For people looking to wow their loved ones these holidays and beyond, they’ll find in waragift.com more than their tastes can accommodate.
Waragift.com is an online store that aggregates unique gift items for its customers in Lagos, giving them what the website refers to as “unique gifting experience.”
Waragift launched today, 8th of December 2017 in Lagos. It is a sister company to waracake.com, a platform for independent bakers where customers can order cakes and have it delivered to them in any location in Lagos, Abuja, Port-Harcourt, and Ibadan.
Waracake’s founder and CEO, Olatunde Ayilara is a beneficiary of the 2016 Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Program that provides seed capital, training, mentorship, and a network for its successful applicants. He also raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Onyeka Akuma, a former Konga and Jumia executive who doubles as a waracake advisor. That funding saw the extension of waracake’s delivering services to others states, including Oyo, Ogun, Osun, and Edo states.
Today’s launch of waragift aims to capture the market opportunity presented by the coming holiday season. There are currently over 150 gift items on the website with plans to add more as the startup grows.
Suregift is another player in the Nigerian online gifting market place with a Kenyan operation that waragift has to compete with.
Onyeka Akuma knows this too well and he said “The WaraGifts brand will gradually position itself as a brand delivering unique gifting experiences in Africa,”
